GES Confirms Re-opening Date for SHS, JHS and Primary Schools
The management of GES Confirms Re-opening Date for SHS, JHS and Primary Schools. It has affirmed the reopening date despite concerns from CHASS pertaining to outstanding finances.
“The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) wishes to remind students, staff, parents, and the general public that the 2024/25 academic calendar has not changed”, GES stated in press release.
As previously announced, SHS students are expected to report back to school on January 3, 2025, while primary and Junior High schools will reopen on January 8, 2025.
Per the release, management of GES is engaging the Ministry for a speedy resolution of concerns raised by the leadership of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS).
GES urges all stakeholders to take note of these dates and make necessary arrangements accordingly.
This confirmation comes after a December 31, 2024, appeal from CHASS, requesting a postponement of the reopening date. CHASS expressed concerns regarding outstanding debts for food supplies and operational expenses at schools.
