UPSA Postgraduate General Entry Requirements
Prospective applicants must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible for admission:
1. Bachelor’s Degree Holders: Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institution in a relevant discipline with:
2. A minimum of Second Class Lower Division.
3. Third Class holders may be considered but will be required to undergo a screening process and selection interview to assess their suitability.
4. Professional Qualification Holders: Individuals with full professional qualifications from recognized bodies such as ICAG, ACCA, CIMA, CIM, CPA, ICSA, and CIB are eligible to apply.
5. International Applicants: Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in related fields, recognized by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), can apply.
Non-English speaking applicants must provide proof of English language proficiency.
UPSA Postgraduate Admission Requirements 2025/2026
Programme-Specific Requirements
1. Master of Philosophy in Finance
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking and Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field with at least a Second Class Lower Division.
Applicants must have an equivalent chartered professional qualification in any of the above fields.
2. Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting & Finance, Auditing, Internal Auditing, Petroleum Accounting & Finance
Prospective applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with at least a Second Class Lower Division.
An applicant must have recognized chartered professional qualification in accounting or finance.
3. Master of Science in Insurance Risk Management
Eligible applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
1. A bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class Lower Division in Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, Actuarial Science, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Engineering from a GTEC-recognized institution.
2. A non-related bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in insurance risk management.
3. A recognized professional qualification such as membership in the Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII).
Master of Science in Procurement Management
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
A bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class Lower Division in Management, Finance, or a business-related programme from a recognized institution.
Non-related degree holders with at least two years of experience in procurement or a related field.
A professional qualification such as the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or related certifications.
Master of Science in Pensions Management
Prospective candidates must have:
A bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class Lower Division in Finance, Economics, Insurance, or any business-related field from a GTEC-recognized institution.
Non-related degree holders with at least two years of experience in pension management or related fields may be considered.
Chartered professional qualifications such as CFA, CIB, CII, ICAG, ACCA, or related certifications, subject to an interview assessment.
Master of Philosophy in Accounting
Applicants must have one of the following qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Accounting & Finance with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division from a recognized institution.
A bachelor’s degree in Finance with at least Second Class Lower Division plus Level Two of professional accounting qualifications from ICAG, ACCA, CIMA, etc.
An MBA in Accounting and Finance.
A full professional qualification from ICAG, ACCA, CIMA, etc., with evidence of independent research work.
