AAMUSTED Postgraduate Entry Requirements 

Here is the minimum university entry requirements into AAMUSTED Postgraduate programmes.

These requirements are to be met in addition to the other programme-specific (Departmental) requirements.

1. For Master of Philosophy (MPhil), Applicants must:

• Hold a B.Sc., B.Ed., B.A., B-Tech, or equivalent degree with at least a Second Class (Lower Division) in the relevant field.
• Hold an M.Tech, M.A., M.Sc., M.Ed., MBA, or equivalent degree in the relevant field.
• Have completed a total of 36 Credit Hours.
• Pass a competitive examination/interview conducted by the university.
•  Submit at least two satisfactory academic references.

Note:Applicants with an M.Tech, M.A., M.Sc., M.Ed., MBA, or equivalent qualification may be admitted directly to the second year to begin synopsis presentation and thesis writing.

For 1-Year Top-Up to Master of Philosophy (MPhil), Applicants must:

• Hold an M.Tech, M.A., M.Sc., M.Ed., MBA, or equivalent qualification. Successful applicants will be admitted to the second year to begin synopsis presentation and thesis writing.
• Pass a competitive examination/interview conducted by the university.

For Master of Arts (M.A.) / Master of Education (M.Ed.) / Master of Technology (M.Tech) / Master of Science (M.Sc.), Applicants must:

• Hold a B.Sc., B.Ed., B.A., B-Tech, or equivalent degree with at least a Second Class (Lower Division) in the relevant field.
•  Have completed a total of 36 Credit Hours.
• Pass a competitive examination/interview conducted by the university.
• Submit at least two satisfactory academic references.

For Master of Business Administration (MBA), Applicants must:

1. Hold a good first degree, preferably Second Class Lower or better (or a Final Grade Point Average of at least 2.0), in a relevant field from AAMUSTED or any recognized university. Applicants with a Third Class may be considered based on work experience or other qualifications.

2. Pass a competitive examination/interview conducted by the university.

3. Submit at least two satisfactory academic references.

Note: At least two years of relevant work experience in the private or public sector will be an added advantage.

Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education
Applicants must:

• Hold a first degree from a recognized university in any field.
• Hold an M.Tech, M.A., M.Sc., M.Ed., MBA, or equivalent degree in the relevant field.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Applicants must:

• Hold a relevant Master’s degree (preferably a research-based degree) from an accredited university.
• Hold an M.Sc. degree with research in the relevant field.
• Pass an interview before admission.

Note: At least two years of relevant work experience in the private or public sector will be an added advantage.

General Postgraduate Admission Requirements at AAMUSTED

Applicants must:

1. Hold a B.Sc., B.Ed., B.A., B-Tech, or equivalent degree with at least a Second Class (Lower Division) in the relevant field.

2. Have completed a total of 35 Credit Hours (Note: Discrepancy from previous document stating 36 Credit Hours).

3. Pass a competitive examination/interview conducted by the university.

4. Submit at least two satisfactory academic references.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Applicants must:

Hold a good first degree, preferably

• Second Class Lower or better (or a Final GPA of at least 2.0) in a relevant field from AAMUSTED or any recognized university.
• Applicants with a Third Class may be considered based on work experience or other qualifications.
• Pass a competitive examination/interview.
• Submit at least two academic references.

Note: At least two years of relevant work experience (private or public sector) is an added advantage.
