UEW Regular Postgraduate Admission Requirements

To qualify for UEW’s postgraduate programmes, applicants must meet the following:

Bachelor’s degree (minimum Second Class Lower ).
Relevant academic background for the chosen programme.
Research proposal (for Ph.D. & M.Phil. applicants).
Certified academic transcripts & certificates.
English proficiency (for non-native speakers).

NOTE : Some departments may require entrance exams or interviews.

PH.D Regular Mode Entry Requirements

Applicant should possess Researched Master’s Degree in the relevant field of study from an accredited institution, with Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 3.0 in the course work and at least grade “B” in the thesis/dissertation.

Departmental/Programme specific requirements may apply. Ph.D. programmes are meant to last for a minimum of three (3) years (for full-time candidates) and four (4) years (for part-time candidates).

One Year M.Phil Top-Up Programme (Regular Mode)

Candidate must possess a Master of Education/Master of Arts/Master of Science/Master of Business Administration, with GPA not less than 3.0, in the relevant field of study from any university recognised by GTEC.

NB: Departmental/Programme specific requirements may apply. These programmes are run on regular (full time) mode for one (1) year, in which students must complete their theses.

Two Year M.Phil Top-Up Programme (Regular Mode)

Candidate must possess a first degree with at least Second Lower Class Division in the relevant field of study from any recognised university.

NB: Departmental specific requirements may apply. M.Phil. programmes are run on regular (full time) mode for two (2) years, in which students must complete their these.

MBA Programmes (Weekend Mode)

Candidate seeking Admission into any MBA programme must:

(i) Have obtained a good first degree with at least a Second Class Division in the related field or programme of study from a recognised University. Or

(ii) Applicants with third class degree with a minimum of five (5) years working experience in related field of study can also apply. Or

(iii) Be a qualified member of one of the following professional bodies constituting the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) e.g. ACCA, ICAG, CIMA and ICAEW.

In addition to any one of the requirements in (a) above, the applicant must have at least one year relevant experience in the private or public sector.
