This important development, communicated from the GES Headquarters in Accra on April 20, 2026, provides clarity and relief to many staff members who have been awaiting these payments.

According to the letter referenced as GES/DD-G(MS)/1/26/212, the directive follows correspondence from the Ministry of Finance (MoF) to the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD).

The subject of the communication centers on settling outstanding salary arrears owed to qualified GES personnel.

Approval and Coverage Period

GES management confirmed that the Ministry of Finance has granted full approval for the payment of salary arrears.

These payments will be processed by the Controller and Accountant General’s Department for eligible staff who accumulated arrears between August 1, 2024, and November 2025.

This period represents months of unpaid or delayed salary obligations now being addressed through a structured financial plan.

Payment Structure and Schedule

To ensure a smooth and manageable disbursement process, the arrears will be paid in five installments. The schedule begins in May and spans several months, with each installment covering four months of arrears.

The breakdown is as follows:

  • May: Payment covering 4 months of arrears
  • June: Payment covering 4 months of arrears
  • July: Payment covering 4 months of arrears
  • August: Payment covering 4 months of arrears
