PRINCOF Releases 2026/2027 Academic Calendar for Colleges of Education
The National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education, Ghana (PRINCOF) has released the 2026/2027 academic calendar for Colleges of Education, outlining important dates for Level 100, 200, 300 and 400 students.
The calendar provides a useful guide for teacher trainees as they prepare for the new academic year. It covers reporting dates, Macro Teaching, semester sessions, Christmas break, examinations and vacation periods.
First Semester Schedules
According to the calendar, Level 400 students are expected to report to campus on September 7, 2026, for orientation towards Macro Teaching.
They will then report to their respective Macro Teaching stations on September 11, 2026.
The Macro Teaching period is scheduled to end on February 20, 2027. This period gives final-year teacher trainees an opportunity to gain practical classroom experience and apply teaching skills acquired during their training.
Levels 100, 200 and 300 Resume in October
Students in Levels 100, 200 and 300 are scheduled to report to campus on October 12, 2026, for the first session of the first semester.
The first session will last for 10 weeks. Students will then break for Christmas on December 19, 2026.
After the Christmas break, students are expected to return to campus on January 11, 2027, for the second session of the first semester. This session will last for four weeks. Coleman Publications +1
First Semester Examination Schedules
The first semester examinations for Levels 100, 200 and 300 are scheduled for January 25 to February 5, 2027.
After the examinations, students will proceed on vacation from February 6, 2027.
Second Semester Schedules
Second Semester Begins in March 2027
The second semester will begin on March 22, 2027, when students in Levels 100, 200, 300 and 400 are expected to report to campus.
The second semester is scheduled to run for 14 weeks.
Second Semester Examination Schedule
End-of-second-semester examinations for all four levels will take place from June 14 to June 25, 2027. Students will then proceed on vacation on June 26, 2027.
