GES Reopens 2025 Teacher Promotion Application Portal
The Ghana Education Service GES has officially reopens the 2025 Teacher Promotion Application portal. This is to give teachers and education officers another opportunity to apply for Promotion after a week a technical challenges.
Initially, the GES promotion portal 2025 experience some technical challenges. This unexpected incident left thousands of eligible teachers and education officers stranded and to when the problem will be resolved.

Henceforth, the GES through it Facebook official page has disclosed the reopening of the portal and has outlined clear requirements, timelines and the new application process for teachers seeking promotion.
Available Ranks for GES 2025 Promotion
Teachers and education officers can now apply for Promotion in to the following ranks listed below through the GES 2025 Teacher Promotion Application Portal.
- Deputy Director (DD)
- Assistant Director I (AD I)
- Assistant Director II (AD II)
- Principal Superintendent (PS)
Eligibility and Qualification Requirements for GES promotion 2025
1. Deputy Director (AD)
- Applicant must have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Director I in or before 2020.
- Must have served continuously at post since then (excluding approved leave of absence).
2. Assistant Director I (AD I)
- Applicant must have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Director II in or before 2020.
- Must have served continuously at post since then (excluding approved leave of absence).
3. Assistant Director II (AD II)
- Applicant must have been promoted to the rank of Principal Superintendent in or before 2020.
- Must have served continuously at post since then (excluding approved leave of absence).
4. Principal Superintendent (PS)
- Applicant must have been promoted to the rank of Senior Superintendent I in or before 2020.
- Must have served continuously at post since then (excluding approved leave of absence).
Guidelines for Master’s and PhD Applicants
1. The Master’s/PhD programme must be on the approved GES course of study.
2. The certificate should not have been obtained before the previous promotion.
3. Applicants who wish to use the Master’s/PhD certificate for promotion to Assistant Director II, Assistant Director I, or Deputy Director must have obtained the certificate in or before 2022.

How to Apply for GES Promotion 2025
Here is the steps teachers and education officers must follow to apply for GES promotion 2025.
1. Complete the online application form at https://bit.ly/GESPROMOTION25 or scan the QR code provided on the official circular.
2. Upload the following documents:
- Passport-size photograph (jpeg, jpg, or png format).
- Last promotion or appointment/upgrading letter.
- Highest academic certificate used for applying.
3. All documents must be uploaded in PDF format (except passport picture).
4. Ensure all documents are clear, legible, and valid.

The GES promotion 2025 deadline is on Thursday, 2nd October 2025.
How to Retrieve GES Promotion Application ID
Teachers and education officers should follow these steps to retrieve their application ID.
1. Click on this link https://bit.ly/GESPROMOTION25
2. Click MENU at your top right corner
3. Click on “Retrieve Code”
4. Fill in your details and receive your application ID through SMS.
All applicants must ensure that the application ID is kept very well.
The application ID will be used to check your application status.
