2026/2027 Colleges of Education Admission: New Update on Possible Release Date
Prospective teacher trainees waiting for admission into Ghana’s public Colleges of Education have received a new update concerning the release of the 2026/2027 admission lists.
Information currently available indicates that successful applicants may begin receiving admission notifications from Thursday, October 1, 2026.

However, applicants should take note that the October 1 date has not yet been officially confirmed by the relevant authorities. It should therefore be treated as the latest information being circulated about the admission process rather than a confirmed official release date.
The release may not happen for every applicant at exactly the same time. Admission notifications could be issued progressively as the institutions complete the necessary selection, sorting and admission arrangements.
This means applicants who do not receive a message immediately should not automatically conclude that they have been unsuccessful.
The October 1 date remains subject to official confirmation. Applicants are therefore encouraged to rely on communication from their respective Colleges of Education and other authorised sources for final confirmation.
What Quarms Media Reported Earlier
Quarms Media had already been providing information on the 2026/2027 Colleges of Education admission process several months before the latest release update.
In a March 2026 publication, Quarms Media reported that applications had opened for admission into the four-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programmes offered by Ghana’s public Colleges of Education.
The publication also provided information about entry requirements, programmes available to applicants, the application process and the cost of the admission e-voucher.
Quarms Media’s earlier report stated that applicants could apply for programmes including Early Grade Education, Primary Education and Junior High School Education, with various subject specialisations available under the JHS option.
This earlier coverage is important because it shows the progression of the admission exercise from the opening of applications, through the application period, to the current stage where applicants are waiting for admission decisions.
Admission Delay and Previous Updates
The wait for the admission list has attracted attention because earlier expectations suggested that successful applicants would begin receiving notifications in September.
A previous report published in August indicated that admissions were expected to begin in September after the application period. It also advised applicants to keep the telephone numbers used during their applications active because admission notifications were expected to be sent by SMS.
Another September update reported that the delay was partly connected to outstanding arrangements involving academic fees and related matters. The information available at the time suggested that the Colleges were working through the selection and sorting process before the release of admissions.
How Successful Applicants May Be Notified
Applicants should pay close attention to their phones because successful candidates are expected to receive admission notifications through SMS using the telephone number provided during the application process.
Applicants should therefore:
1. Keep their registered phone numbers active.
2. Check their SMS messages regularly.
3. Monitor communication from their chosen College of Education.
4. Check available admission-status platforms when updates are released.
Reporting Date for Newly Admitted Students
The admission release is particularly important because the 2026/2027 academic year is approaching.
Earlier information on the academic calendar indicated that newly admitted Level 100 students are expected to report to their Colleges of Education on October 12, 2026.
