GES Recruitment Application Process 2026
The GES recruitment 2026 application is done online through the official portal which will soon be opened.

After submission, the GES recruitment team screens applicants, shortlists qualified candidates, and conducts document verification before final postings.
Application Period and Recruitment Timeline
From the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, the recruitment portal is expected to open around April 10, 2026 and close 17th April, 2026 following a financial clearance obtained from the Ministry of Finance.
Before any GES recruitment begins, financial clearance must be granted. The Ministry of Finance has approved funding for the 2026 recruitment, making the process legally and financially possible.
Quota for GES Recruitment 2026
The Minister of Education in a media briefing openly confirmed that approval has been given to recruit 7,000 teachers nationwide to strengthen the education sector.
“This move aims to reduce unemployment among trained teachers and address staffing gaps in schools across Ghana”, the Minister said.
From the Minister, priority will be given to applicants willing to work in deprived and rural areas where teacher shortages are high.
Target Group of Trained Teacher
Interested applicants must know that the recruitment exercise will target graduates from the 2023, 2024, and 2025 cohorts.
Eligible Requirements for GES Recruitment 2026
To apply as a teacher, you must:
1. Have a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Certificate.
2. Complete National Service.
3. Pass the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE).
4. Be of good character and medically fit.
5. Be willing to work anywhere in Ghana.
