Mount Mary College of Education Declares Vacancies for Teaching and Non-Teaching
Mount Mary College of Education, Somanya, Ghana, has formally announced teaching and non-teaching job vacancies.
The opportunity covers education, administration, procurement, auditing, ICT and security.
Teaching Vacancies
According to the management of Mount Mary College of Education, Lecturers are required in:
- Education (Curriculum Studies and Special Education)
- Ghanaian Language-Dangme
- English Language (Language and Literature, Linguistics, Lexico Semantics).
Application Requirements
1. Applicants must possess a PhD, M.Phil. or a bachelor’s degree in the relevant area, with ICT skills for teaching.
2. Candidates should have served as a Lecturer in a College of Education or analogous tertiary institution for at least two years.
3. Duties include teaching, setting and marking assignments and examination questions, supervising students’ project work, invigilating examinations, research and publications, supervising students’ internships (supported teaching in schools), community service and outreach, curriculum development and academic administration, and promoting professional development and collaboration.
Non-Teaching Vacancies
1. Junior Assistant Registrar: Applicants must hold a master’s degree in education administration, Administration of Higher Education or a related area; a bachelor’s degree; computer literacy; and at least two years of post-qualification experience in a tertiary institution, Public Service or analogous institution.
Membership of a recognized professional body is an added advantage.
2. Assistant Procurement Officer: Candidates need an MSc, bachelor’s degree or HND in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, professional membership and computer literacy.
3. Chief Security Officer: Applicants require at least six years’ experience as Principal Security Officer in a university and ability to organize and control security personnel.
They must have attained at least Major or above in the Armed Forces, or Superintendent or above in the Police Service, with a clean record.
4. Senior Auditing Assistant: Applicants need a good first degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or a related field, with at least a Second-class lower division.
An HND plus 4–5 years’ relevant experience, or Part 3 of CIMA/ACCA, is also stated, with computer literacy.
5. Senior ICT Assistant: Applicants must have been an ICT Assistant, possess a bachelor’s degree in ICT or Computer Science with at least a Second-class lower division, and have two years’ similar experience.
6. Driver Mechanic Grade I: Applicants need at least three years as Driver Grade II in a college, university or similar organization, a valid Driving Licence “F” with at least three years’ accident-free driving, and SSCE/WASSCE.

1. Applicants must submit six copies, including certified certificates, transcripts, GTEC Certificate Evaluation Report or evidence of submission for evaluation, CV, recommendation letters from two referees, a page of Teaching Philosophy for teaching applicants, and other relevant documents.
