The management of Teachers Fund on 13th February 2026, has issued an important notice to valued members about serious loan processing challenges affecting applications and approvals.
The update by the Teachers Fund explains that technical problems with the Government of Ghana Third-Party Reference System (TPRS) platform, after the January 2026 payroll cycle, have disrupted normal loan processing activities for about three weeks.
According to the notice, these loan processing challenges are system-related and not caused by member errors. The TPRS platform is currently unable to support key verification checks required before any loan processing can be completed. As a result, new loan processing requests cannot move forward at this time.
Specifically the following disruptions has been identified:
1. Affordability Access
According to the release, some members are erroneously having zero affordability while all members are unable to verify their loan affordability status on the TPRS, even though the affordability and mandate numbers are currently reflecting on their GOG payslip.
2. Payslip Update Disabled
Payslips have not been updated on the TPRS platform, preventing the initiation of new loan applications.
3. Mandate Number Validation
Mandate numbers cannot currently be validated on the TPRS platform.
4. Suspension of Loan Processing
The cumulative effect of these challenges has resulted in a total inability to process or create new loans.
This mismatch has created confusion and delays in loan processing decisions. Because of this, new loan processing applications cannot be initiated.
Due to the combined effect of affordability errors, payslip update failures, and mandate validation issues, loan processing and new loan creation have been fully suspended.
“We have also observed that member payslips are failing to reflect current loan balances, leaving members uninformed about their repayment progress.”
In view of these challenges, the processing of all loan applications are still on hold pending the resolution of the issues by the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD)”, the statement added.
Members are advised to exercise restraint and avoid financial decisions based on incomplete loan processing data while authorities work with the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) to resolve the problem.
“We wish to emphasise that loan processing can only be done if the same affordability and mandate numbers can be ascertained on the TPRS NOT member GOG payslip. We would continue to urge members to exercise restraint and avoid taking decisions that will eventually affect them while we press on the CAGD to get the issues resolved as early as practicable”, the update emphasized.
Members will receive immediate notification once normal loan processing resumes.
