The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the commencement of Inter-Regional and Inter/Intra District Re-postings for 2026.

The directive, issued from the GES Headquarters in Accra on 3rd June 2026, is aimed at facilitating the smooth transfer and redistribution of qualified personnel within the education sector.
The initiative provides an opportunity for eligible GES staff who wish to relocate for personal, family, health, or professional reasons.
GES indicated that the process for staff seeking assurance for re-posting remains unchanged. Applicants are therefore expected to follow the established procedures and submit all required documents to support their requests.
Official Schedule for the 2026 Re-Posting Exercise
GES has outlined the following timeline for the exercise:
- Issuance of assurances to eligible applicants begins: Wednesday, 3rd June 2026.
- Deadline for issuance of assurances: Wednesday, 17th June 2026.
- Processing of Inter-Regional re-posting applications by the regions: From Wednesday, 17th June 2026, to Tuesday, 30th June 2026.
- Deadline for processing all Inter-Regional and Inter/Intra District re-postings: Monday, 31st August 2026.
- Approval of successful applications takes effect: Beginning of the next academic year in September 2026.
The Service emphasized the need for timely submission of processed Inter-Regional documents to the headquarters. Regional offices are encouraged to forward applications as soon as they are received to speed up the approval process and avoid unnecessary delays.
In addition, all Regional Directors have been instructed to compile and submit a list of staff members who have been granted assurance in their respective regions to the Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD) Secretariat at the GES Headquarters in Accra.
