Exclusive : GES Clarifies June 4th and 5th Mid-term Break for Basic School

By | June 3, 2026

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has moved to clear up growing confusion surrounding reports of a supposed mid-term break scheduled for June 4 and 5.

According to a statement shared by GES PRO on his Facebook page, there will indeed be a mid-term break during the academic term, but it is not scheduled for June 4th and 5th as widely circulated on social media and other unofficial platforms.

The spokesperson emphasized the need for students, parents, teachers, and the general public to verify information before accepting or sharing it. In the statement, GES PRO stressed, “The mid-term break is not tomorrow. There will be mid-term, but it is not June 4th & 5th.”

This clarification was repeated strongly to counter the spread of misinformation.
To avoid confusion, the public has been advised to consult only trusted and official sources for educational updates.

Individuals are encouraged to first check the official GES platforms whenever information regarding school schedules, holidays, or academic activities is circulated.

If such information is not available on the official GES page, they can also verify it through the GES PRO page, where updates and clarifications are regularly provided.

For those who do not actively use social media, the statement recommends confirming information directly with school authorities.
